and I couldn't shake the impression that it was a sedan with a wagon parked behind it.

hah, I think I know the guy who owns the car in that pic you just posted
he used to hang around the crown vic forums telling us about how he's glad he totaled his 06 vic and bought a magnum and how awesome magnums are.

I always thought these should have been sold as 300 wagons in America like they were in the rest of the world, because the body is way more 300 than it was Charger.

I mean like the window line and the slab-sided body, they scream 300. And the Magnum and 300's front clips can be interchanged, Overhaulin' did it to a Magnum they did.

My god i forgot how ugly magnums are. Doesn't help the fact that some of their owners thought they were even remotely fast.

I'll spare you, you've already heard all about it.
Actually, I tore apart my gear selector to find a metal parking lockout, that just looked like it was plastic until I got the whole thing apart... If your brother would like a billet one for his Charger (if he hasn't already put a metal one in), he can have it for the price I paid. Not even opened yet, still sealed. I'll stick it in the car, and it'll be there the next time we meet up somewhere...

Whats the deal with the parking lockout, are they prone to fail?

In a lot of the LX cars, the piece is made of plastic, so sometimes the lockout will break, and car wont shift out of park. Takes about 30 minutes to get it apart and back together. I think the really early 2005s didn't have much in the way of problems, but the later 05's and 06's are a mixed bag. Digging into the car, and finding parts with factory stickers still on them, they're dated 10/2004, so I think my Magnum was part of the first batch to go out. Might explain why it seems to not have the same issues as the other ones, but it could also just be coincidence.
